Regrets I’ve been careless again
Monday, September 19th, 2005What an exciting homecoming from Jakarta last Thursday 15/9 midnight!. As always after arrival, had loads of emails to clear in hotmail, yahoo, and my main box. And then spent 16/9 friday updating the email contacts of all the new friends I met during my trip to Jkt from Sep 13-15.
Saturday 17/9 I wanted to send out some "thank you" and "sad couldnt meet up" emails, and shoot!!!…my pc just couldnt boot up!
Off to the pc hospital on Saturday and today PC is home after a bill of over RM 300!!. Other than the $$$$, this is what I also lost:-
a) All my contacts from July 3rd till Sept 16th
b) All my archived emails from 25July 2004 till 16 Sept 2005
c) All my favourite links from 25th July 2004 till 16 Sept 2005
d) My precious time to update all the info back
But every experience brings some important lessons;
1. Never neglect a timely backup
2. Backup everything, cos you just never know
3. The PC DR was kind enuf to show me where to locate the MS hidden files i need.
