Giant Surprise
Friday, September 1st, 2006The TV I bought at Giant last month died on 30th Aug. Oh what a frustration…having a brand new TV kaput on you one day before our National Day holiday!. There goes my chance of watching the 4 DVDs I bought this week!
On 1st Sept, I woke up at 9am - 2 hours before my usual time, (don’t I sound desperate to fix this TV quick?) just to call up the Agent in Shah Alam. Imagine the horror - the phone number is not in service.
So I called up Giant and the lady says the right person is Satish. I speak to Satish and he says bring the set over and he will check it.
So off I go to Giant Pyramid. Oh must be the Merdeka holiday yesterday as for a friday, the roads are clear and it takes me just 30 mins to reach there from Setapak.
Satish takes the set from my car and exchanges a new set for me!. Now that is a surprise - never before has a guarantee involve exchange for a new one. Satish told me repair takes about 1 month, so those customers who are nice, they will exchange a brand new set and the repaired set goes to become a display set.
I dont know about you…its my lucky day today or Giant has really such good customer service.
So do remember the few morals of this story:-
1. What’s cheap is seldom good, and whats good is seldom cheap. You get what you pay for.
2. Treat others kindly and your rewards will be even greater
3. The customer is always right, so treat them well and they will become your ambassadors
4. Word of mouth advertising is the cheapest, yet the most effective way to promote products n services
5. I am happy to share this service experience with Giant - eventhough I am not being paid a cent for it. But yet, I teach people how to get paid for doing the things they are doing everyday for free……So are you still not getting an extra pay check in your bank every month?
