2008 Malaysian Cabinet

Following the recent 12th Malaysian General Elections, the Barison National coalition, won 140 of the 222 parliment seats to form the new government.

Yesterday 18th March, the new government line-up was announced and here’s an update.

27 ministries, with 32 ministers, 2 special advisors - (only 1 exposed) and 37 deputy ministers, 0 parlimentary secretaries.

Is that a bit much for a small country of 26 million population?. Too many ‘chiefs’ and not enuf ‘indians’ ? Australia is much bigger in land area with 20 million people and they only have 12 ministries. Makes you wonder, if we are so inefficient.
