The Tribe has spoken

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

Malaysians have voted for the opposition in 5 states and the tribe has spoken.

Congratulations to all state and parliment representativess and the brand new state governments in Selangor. Perak, Penang, Kedah and the mandate to Kelantan again.

Please don’t let the massive win go to your heads. It’s time to cooperate and power share with your coalition partners, and show how the DAP, PKR and PAS State governments can better serve the rakyat, and to be the check and balance in the federal government.

It’s such a shame though, that the BN controlled media TV1 and the Election Commission, held back the results, while the whole world already knew, the ruling BN government, had lost 4 new states to the opposition.

As for the BN federal government, I hope they will now listen to their coalition and opposition partners and work together for the benefit of All Malaysians, irrespective of Race and Religion.

If Barison Nasional does not improve, by the next election, they could lose the Negeri Sembilan and Melaka state governments and even lose control of the federal government, and become the opposition!

Let’s move forward together as One Malaysia and One people.

Merdeka!, Merdeka!, Merdeka!

Drug research focus leaves us up and rising.

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

In Pharmacology, all drugs have two names, a trade name and generic name. For example, the trade name of Tylenol also has a generic name of Acetaminophen. Aleve is also called Naproxen. Amoxil is also called Amoxicillin and Advil is also called Ibuprofen.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin (My-cock-is-floppin). Also considered were Mycoxafailin (My-cock-is-failin), Mydixadrupin (My-dick-is-droopin), Mydixarizin (My-dick-is-risin), Dixafix (Dicks-a-fix), and of course, Ibepokin (I-be-pokin).

Pfizer Corp. announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi  as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of "cocktails", "highballs" and just a good old-fashioned "stiff drink". Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of: MOUNT & DO.

There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer’s research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

Simple or 2/3 majority and the effects

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

It only takes a simple majority to form a new government, after the 12th Malaysian General Elections. So why the need for Barisan Nasional to make a clean sweep or even a 2/3 majority?.

For the good of the nation, every elected parliment or state representative, irrespective of their political party, will certainly support development, investment, healthcare, social and education policies.

But, without any check and balance, every resolution can be voted in without any objection. And what does this mean for you and me?

1.  Hundreds of changes (some say 500 plus so far), to the original constitution over the last 50 years, without debate

2.  Gradual but certain changes from common English law, to Syariah law

3. The absolute control of the Judiciary, ACA and Police, from properly and thoroughly discharging their duties without restrictions.

4. Blatant wastage of public funds on fraud and ego-related projects, that have no direct or indirect benefit to the community at large.

It’s time to stop the rot in the weak foundation, and have a better voice through your elected representative, so that there is greater tranparancy and accountability.

Power corrupts and Absolute Power corrupts Absolutely!.

8 million votes lost

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

There will be 8 million voters who will not cast their vote on March 8, 2008. This huge number, are those still alive and aged 21 and above, who have yet to sign up, or turn up at Malaysia’s 12th General Election Day, to make democracy work for them.

3 million no-shows and 5 million unregistered voters, out of total of 16 million voters is a huge number. That’s 50% of the total eligible voters.

There are 4 reasons why these 8 million wont show up :-

a) They are not happy with the preferential treatment, rights and priviledges of certain races, yet afraid of change.

b) They are fedup with politics, corruption and blatant mismanagement of taxpayers money, but don’t see a suitable replacement to mount a credible challenge.

c) They are resigned to the fact, that whether they vote or not, the government is going to win for sure.

d) Life is so good for them now, that they dont see the importance of their 1 vote.

The rise of bigots and dictators happens when there is apathy among those who love democracy. Decreasing interest and increasing indifference are the biggest threats to our democratic process.

Every vote counts, so please cast your vote on 8th march. Or we can only claim the title of Jaguh Kampong (Village Champion) instead of a world’s Super Power.
