Malaysia is blogger country

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

According to The Star Thursday 3rd April, 2008, Malaysia has half a million active bloggers - the 2nd highest in the world after Indonesia. http://thestar.com.my

Makes you wonder what all these bloggers write about. Politics, food, business or just wasting time writing their online journal.

Many people are surprised I maintain 7 blogs with at least 1 posting a week. But then again, I blog for the past King’s & President’s head printed on the currency note - yeah thats right - money in Ringgit & US dollars !

I started out using blogs as an archive for my weekly messages and from 2007, attended some courses, bought some ebooks on blogging and today blogging is a nice source of income.

If you seriously want to get started, then you really have to buy a few good ebooks that I have bought. Don’t get me wrong, buying is the first sign of commitment, that you really want to invest your time and money doing something exciting, that can pay you for doing the things you love.

I don’t know what you love to do, but for me, its the flexibility of working from anywhere at anytime and having to answer only to God and to myself.

Happy blogging and making your life better!.

A knee jerk reaction

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

The Fitna anti-islam clip has enraged the Muslims globally. The fact remains, it was one person’s mischief and not his nationality or country.

Some parties in Malaysia call for a boycott of Dutch goods. However, some Dutch goods like milk, shampoo, household and electrical products are made in Indonesia and also in Malaysia. So who looses if muslims boycott these goods - its the majority Muslims living in Indonesia and Malaysia who ultimately loose!.

From the list of 42 Dutch things, 39 were either made in Malaysia or Indonesia, and 4 imported from Holland!. It’s a real world out there

KLM has the cheapest air fares between KL and Jakarta. I am not going to spend more for my flights, as I ultimately will lose.

Shell (made in malaysia) has the best petrol and I will not change my brand, will you?

With 5 states now under the alternative government, imagine a day when a state exco makes a sensitive statement, and billions of muslims boycot Malaysian products. Our economy would collapse. Is that fair, when it was just the mistake of one person?.

So think carefully, is boycotting or violence the only solution or should the Organisation of Islamic Countries ( OIC ) do something positive. No one is above the law and you cannot take the law into your own hands.

Oh well some traders like Mydin say they support the boycott, but in actual fact, they just put a red label to the products of Dutch origin, instead of removing it from the shelves. What do you think of that?.
