We all love to spend lots of money buying new clothes.. but never realize that some of the best moments in life are enjoyed without clothes.

So, any plans to go shopping today or shall we just skip the time waster and get straignt to the point.

Fixed my backfiring at last

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Almost 45 days since I installed NGV and I’ve been having some frustrations with backfiring.

After changing my spark plugs twice, servicing the throttle body, adjusting the plug contact gap, yesterday Alan decided to change the plug cables after 7 hours at the workshop.

Lo and behold, the misfiring stopped!. What upset me was that from the first rough idling and jerking, I did ask him about changing my plug cables as I had read in the NGV forum, most users had to change to a brand new set.

Anyway, the car is running fine for now and I will update the progress soon.

If you are driving this weekend to balik kampong, drive safe and be alert always. Enjoy the holidays and for my muslim readers, Selamat Hari Raya and do bring back some ketupat, lemang, rendang and duit raya for me.

There was Blood everywhere!

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Sunday past, I was the first in line to donate blood after mass. The blood donation campaign was organised by the Good Shephard Church and it was so convenient to just pop in at 9.40pm.

While this was my 15th time, what was special was that this was the first time Andrea, my 2nd girl decided to do her part and donate blood.

I do hope our blood will save a life one day soon.

Andrea warded at Assunta Hospital last night

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

When everything is going smoothly, suddenly an event will change your whole life.

Andrea my 2nd girl was complaining of stomach pains and Dr Guna, suspected she had appendicitis. So off to Assunta hospital we went. Left  home at 9pm after packing and watching PCK.

Emergency room Nurses at at Assunta Hospital were friendly and efficient, and Dr Liew took 30 mins to check up on her.

Then came the long wait for the ING insurance approval that only arrived around 11.30pm. After a few more tests, she was checked in for 2 nights stay and more tests.

Don’t ever fall sick, take your supplements and if you cant eat healthily or exercise, then take even more health supplements, Falling sick is not only expensive, but also very stressful.

I’m glad I decided not to go to Busan this week. See how things turn out for the better, or I’d be away and something more serious could have happened to Andrea.

Now to wait and wait for more tests and hopefully can be easily fixed, as UEC and SPM trails will be starting very soon.

Trip to Singapore Aug 30 - Sep 1

Monday, September 8th, 2008

I had an excellent trip to Singapore during the Merdeka Independance long weekend. Just 3 days online and it took me 8 days to clear up all the orders, emails and sales inquiries. So my sincere apologies for the long silence.

Left KL at 11am and after stopping for gas at Air Keroh, Kluang and JB and with the terrible causeway jam, only reached my aunt’s 70th birthday party at 7pm.

Spent Sunday at Vivo City eating and eating and meeting up Victor for dinner, and later Patrick for supper at Sembawang.

Monday after sorting out my POSB internet banking, left Singapore at 11am and arrived in KL at 6pm. Was raining all the way and heavy traffic from Seremban all the way to KL, due to the long weekend break.

Total cost for gas within Singapore was just RM5, and to and fro KL and  JB was RM36 - about 5 sen per km. Cheaper than the one way ost of the highway toll.

Was quite surprised too that one tank of gas can last 160km compared to just 100-130km for city use.

I’ve updated these details in my new ebook titled Guide to NGV installation. If you are considering installing NGV / CNG for your car, this is a must read.
